At the Art & History Museums of Maitland (A&H), we’re proud to support educators by offering meaningful arts and history experiences for students in grades K–8.

Across our two campuses and five museums, students engage with Florida’s rich heritage and explore their own creativity through immersive, hands-on learning.

Field Trips for Public and Private Schools

Our field trips for K–8 students center on the Maitland Art Center, a former artist retreat founded in 1937 by architect and visionary André Smith. As the only National Historic Landmark in Central Florida, the campus features over 2,500 architectural reliefs and sculptures in the unique Mayan Revival style. Students tour the historic campus and then participate in a guided “plein air” (open air) sketching lesson inspired by the site’s gardens and architecture.

Orange County Public Schools may be eligible for field trip funding through United Arts.

Homeschool Days

Designed to ignite curiosity through hands-on learning, our Homeschool Days offer dynamic programming that bridges art and history. Students tour our museums, including the Telephone Museum and the Maitland Art Center Gallery, and then dive into creative studio activities that might include 3D sculpture, printmaking, or architectural design. These programs encourage young learners to see themselves as artists, designers, and storytellers.

Pre-registration is required. Limited to 25–30 students per session. Private bookings are available for groups of 20+.
