Cultural Engagement for Lifelong Learners
The Art & History Museums of Maitland (A&H) welcomes senior groups to experience art, history, and community in an enriching environment. Located on a National Historic Landmark campus, A&H offers a variety of programs tailored to meet the interests, energy levels, and mobility needs of older adults.
Our senior programs take place across our scenic grounds and historic artist studios, originally established as a working artist colony in 1937. Today, the campus continues to serve as a hub for creativity and cultural exchange, making it the perfect setting for exploration.
Options for senior groups may include:
- Guided artmaking experiences, such as collaborative printmaking or nature sketching in the garden
- Tours of the historic campus, including the distinctive architecture of the Maitland Art Center or local stories featured in the Maitland History Museum and Telephone Museum
- Flexible pacing and personalized programming to accommodate different needs and interests, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable experience for all
Whether your group is looking for a hands-on creative session, a peaceful stroll through inspiring surroundings, or an insightful look at Maitland’s artistic and cultural legacy, we’re here to help you design the right fit.
