Family Programs at A&H: Create Together, Learn Together

At the Art & History Museums of Maitland, families aren’t just visitors, they’re active participants in a legacy of learning, imagination, and cultural exploration. We believe in the transformative power of shared creative experiences. Our family programs invite people of all ages to connect, create, and spark new ideas together, all while deepening their understanding of local art and history.

From babies discovering texture and color to school-aged children learning through making, and adults rediscovering creativity alongside them, these programs open doors to conversation and discovery. Whether you're sketching in the gardens, experimenting with new materials, or embarking on a themed adventure, our programs are designed to inspire creativity and strengthen family bonds.

We invite families of all backgrounds to explore the full range of what we offer. Learn more about each program below.

Free Family Days

Celebrate creativity in action! On our seasonal Free Family Days, families gather in the beautiful main garden of our National Historic Landmark campus to enjoy art activities, scavenger hunts, face painting, and more. Surrounded by the historic studios of the Maitland Art Center, participants are invited to co-create, explore museum exhibitions, and engage in a day full of interactive and imaginative experiences, all at no cost.
