The Art & History Museums of Maitland (A&H) offers a one-of-a-kind backdrop for photography, with over 2,500 hand-carved sculptural details, historic architecture, and lush gardens. From portraiture to artistic compositions, our National Historic Landmark campus provides an inspiring canvas for creatives of all kinds.
Please note: A&H is located on private property. All photographers, whether professional, commercial, or recreational, must obtain a photo pass in advance and check in at the Main Office before capturing any images. Same-day passes are not available.
General Information
- A&H reserves all rights to the photographic reproduction of museum property.
- All sessions require advance scheduling and payment. Your request is not confirmed until approved and paid in full.
- All photography must take place in designated areas. Staff will provide guidance during check-in.
- Portrait sessions, stylized shoots, and any photo session using professional equipment are subject to applicable fees and must follow the guidelines below.
Types of Photography & Rates
Professional Photography
Photography for which income is derived, including all portraits (engagement, family, graduation, etc.).
Rates:
$100/hour (Weekday: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM)
$200/hour (Weekend: must be booked at least 30 days in advance)
Artistic Photography
Photography conducted by amateurs or professionals for artistic use, including social media and content creation.
Rates:
$100/hour (Weekday: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM)
$200/hour (Weekend: must be booked at least 30 days in advance)
Commercial Photography
Photography produced for publication, promotional use, or commercial marketing (e.g. stylized shoots, brand content).
- Commercial photography requires written approval from the A&H Executive Director(s).
- A&H reserves the right to approve all content where its name or property is featured.
- Fees and scheduling are determined case by case.
